Care and Maintenance

Most leathers can be stain resistant, resilient and durable provided that they are correctly maintained. The general golden rule is knowing the type of leather to correctly maintain it.

Best practices

Some suggestions to better maintain your Studioart leather products.

Like all other materials, leather should be cleaned by employing the least intrusive methods before attempting other means.
For ordinary cleaning, occasional dusting with a dry cloth, or a vacuum cleaner, and the application of a protective cream should be all that is necessary to clean and maintain it. Should there be any spill on the leather, we suggest to wipe it up immediately, since anything containing alcohol/ acid substances could eventually consume the protective finish if left on over a prolonged period of time.
For extra-ordinary cleaning, products with different features and applications are available according to the different types of leathers:
- cleaning detergents;
- oils and waxes to brighten up the leather appearance and reduce the signs of use;
- protectives that give leathers an additional protective film, i.e water resistance.
These products are superficial, therefore they require periodic applications.
We recommend to test leather care products on a less visible area before proceeding with the overall application.

For extra-ordinary maintenance we also recommend to refer to a specialist in leather cleaning, who is generally able to restore damaged leathers.
Different types of leathers can be more resistant than others, however to ensure a better long-term result, we suggest to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and installation of the product in proximity of heat sources.

For best leather maintenance, we have divided our leather collections according to the type of finishing.
